THE PLATE in the “MELOTON” is cast in an improved pattern, and modeled the principle of the Grand. This plate

reaches the full depth of the piano from top to bottom, and is reinforced with extra heavy bars and braces, arranged to secure
the greatest possible strength in resisting the enormous, constant strain of the strings, and thus give to the “MELOTON” in
upright form the best qualities of the Grand piano.
No. 502. Corinthian
This very elaborate case has a distinctive individuality of
its own. It represents the very highest point of architec-
tural harmony. It is double veneered (cross-banded); lined
throughout with bird’s-eye maple. Panel hand-carved in
artistic design. Trusses and pilasters hand-carved; con-
tinuous hinges. Mahogany, walnut or quartered-oak, highly
polished.
SIZE—Height, 4 feet 9 inches; width, 5 feet 4 inches;
depth, 2 feet 24 inches.
SCALE—Seven and one-third octaves; overstrung bass;
