Printed border treatmentTooled/lined border filled with gold; faint blue band edged with gold The Violet pattern is tooled and lined as described above under the Pink Rose pattern, but the pieces are of plain design instead of the Le Pompadour. Can also be furnished in Pink Roses instead of Violets. Give same numbers, but specify plainly the decoration. In this pattern the pieces are first tooled or lined (shown by the fine lines edging each piece) and the tooled lines are then filled with gold; the space between these lines is painted a faint blue, forming a narrow blue band, edged with gold all around the edge of each piece. The pink roses are then grouped over this band, giving a very beautiful effect. For the styles and sizes of the pieces quoted see page 100.
